a day is a day is a day lol

not much been happening here. I get up, take care of my young'ns and go to bed and start all over. Some days have things to mark their occasion.. that makes it memorable, and not just another day on a calender page.. that will soon be torn out and thrown away.

No, this day was pretty ordinary.. well, maybe except for its the hottest it's been since last summer :) It's nice to have days where absolutely nothing happens. One can relax.. no need to get all worked up or stressed. The only problem with days like this, is they seem to go so darn fast. Blink and it is dark once again.

lol.. really i woke up recently, and realized that i am about to be 33. I have to think to my self .. how did that happen? seems like only yesterday that I was 10, riding my bike and picking blackberries.. wishing I was done with school already :)

oh how time flies! I guess in the grand scheme of things.. life really is short.. and one should really take the time to smell the proverbial roses. enjoy the feel of the wind on your face. Smile as others pass by (grumpy or not.. lol them or you). take time to notice the small changes around you, and appreciate them for what they are. just be.

kind of hippy sounding i guess, but really when does one ever really take the time to just appreciate who they are as people? as a person?

who are you? something to chew on.. but i will bet with out you the world would be a less colorful and bright place..

Last nite...

Last Night, for our viewing pleasure, we had a nice collection of shows on TV. With all the junk that is on TV these days, it's nice to find something I love to watch..and Sundays are now stacked with enjoyable shows... or not depending on who you ask lol.

I tuned in to watch The amazing Race, Undercover Boss, and Celebrity Apprentice. I, myself, have never been one to watch The Apprentice, but after seeing the line up.. I was intregued. Not, I am not one of those crazed, drooling mad people who are consumed with celebrities and their lives. I am, hoever, a big admirer of both Cindi Lauper and Sharon Osborne. So, for the first time, I tuned into The Apprentice.

After watching it, it appeared that maybe Sharon and Cindy were not going to be the best of friends. Kind of a shame really. Sharon has realibackbone. She tells it as it is, and doesn't water it down with pretty flowers and rainbows. Let's face it, today's society is all about the pretty flowers. Not as it really is. Sharon definately does not color inside the lines. I love that about her.

Cindi does not color inside the lines either. She has always been known as "eccentric". From her hair to her music, Cindi has marched to her own style, and in my opinion wonderful for it. It's so refreshing to see musical talent that is not cookie cutter. Her music is beautiful and uniquely hers. In all her years of being in the public eye.. she remains true to herself, and that is awesome!

I was excited to see Cindi and Sharon together for The Apprentice. Both of them kicked ass in their diner.. though Cindi could have been a more organized project leader. You have to hand it to Brett Michaels for sticking to his guns about the expensive menu and incorporating the strengths of his team the best. I was shocked that the boys won, becuase the girls diner was so packed in comparison to the girls team. I do have to keep in mind editing and the like.

I definately will be watching next week. Obviously, I will be rooting for Cindi and Sharon, but i know both can not win. On the two, I am torn.

Spring

I walked outside today to feel the promise of Spring in the air. sure, i have been fooled before. It had warmed up, the dogwood tree had buds on it, and the birds were singing. Then 2 days late it hit. BAM! Snow. So, today, I walked outside and felt the optimism that spring had finally arrived.
Of course, after a seemingly cold dark winter, my heart lifted and I started looking around at my yard outside. Now, my head is brimming with things to do to brighten things up.. to make it look new again.

Isn't that what Spring is about?? Making the old, new.. rebirth... In a way, Spring is more like a New Year than New Year's day. On New Years, people make their resolutions. Many of them are to lose weight, quick smoking, or spend less money. In January, however, most people are motivated by one thing.. staying warm. Being in a warm house is not conductive to active weight loss. Also, people tend to do activited that are indoors like eating out and the movies, which costs money.
On the arrival of Spring, people start getting out of their houses. They are more apt to walk to places, go shopping, hiking etc.. The arrival of Spring brings that extra kick of motivation to tackled those resolutions. To shed the old and start new.

I, myself, have some baby weight to lose and a smoking habit to kick. So, welcome spring!! Welcome to the unoffical "New Year"

Randomness

Well, It's another day. I spent my day doing what I always do. I got my son off to school and home again, baths, and dinner taken care of. All the normal day to day things a mom takes care of.
I got a moment and sat back and thought. Is everyday a day that you just tick off a series of moments that pass predictably as the second hand on a clock? Or is it that the pattern just seems predictable because one doesn't take the time to really give thought on what happens during the day.. maybe we are all so rushed that in the end, we drag our tired bodies to the couch, turn on some mindless TV show and just lump the day into the big catagories.

Lucky for us or not so lucky, depending on how you look at it, we have TV to fill us full of all the random we could ever want. Dream of a nice big home? great, watch HGTV. Dream of being that girl how has everything and flaunts it? Real Housewives is the show for you. Maybe you are the one who stands naked in front of the bathroom mirror imaging you are a great singer... American Idol baby. Though, speaking of American Idol, with out the quirky, sometimes seemingly intoxicated Paula, the show falls somehow .. flat. who knew?

For me, I am the girl dancing around my livingroom pretending i am on Dancing with the Stars.. um ya.. ok maybe not. Sometimes I see myself picking out a fancy house that costs almost a cool mil and close to the beach. A bit of dreaming never hurt anyone right? lol.

I guess for those of us looking for the randomness that we dont get in the routine of our 24 hour day, we can find it in TV. Realistically, though, until we DO, instead of watch.. it is all a dream. To get away from that routine and create that bit of randomness.. the adventure, we have to make it happen.

Who knows? maybe in a month or so, you will see me on TV, dancing on Ellen.. hehe. it could happen :)

The Wash

Hello to everyone reading this !

I decided recently to start my own blog. It is a way to get my thoughts down and hear others thoughts as well. Call it a way to expand my horizons. :) I have read a few blogs and many seem to have a focus, while others have a flair about them. I can't say that my blog will be either of those things. As the title suggests, it will be a random walk through various topics and thoughts; whatever catches my fancy for that blog.

A hope you enjoy reading my blog and feel free to express you thoughts and opinions. I will reply as soon as possible.

Cheers!

Lynn
